Malaysia Airlin Flight 370

If you have been paying attention to the news lately you have heard about the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that went missing March 8th, 2014. At 12:41 am the flight took off from Kuala, Lumpur heading for Beijing, China. At 1:07 one of the plane's communication systems sent a transmission, this is the last that is heard. By 1:19 a voice from the cockpit makes a voice check-in with air traffic controllers as the plane leaves the Malaysian airspace and enters the Vietnamese airspace. 1:21 the transponder stops all communication. 1:22 the plane disappears from Thai military radar. Between 1:21- 1:28 the Thai radar picks up an unknown aircraft and sees it change its course. At 3:45 Malaysia Airlines issues a "code red" and claims that the plane is no longer being seen on radar. The code red would allow an emergency response plan to go into action. By 6:30 the plane should have landed in Beijing, Chine. The plane had not yet arrives. At 7:24 Malaysia Airlines announced publicly of the plane disappearance. 33 days ago authorities began the search for the missing flight. The flight was carrying 239 people. Authorities have narrowed down the search to more than 1/3 of where they originally thought the plane was. It is a 29,000 square-mile zone centered about 1,400 miles northwest of Perth. Crews have now been underwater listening for signs of the missing flight. Hoping to hear what they think are signals. This past Saturday, Australia's Ocean Shield discovered the signals that the missing flight was putting off. The first signal went off for more than 2 hours, the second for about 13 minutes. The batteries on these signals are only suppose to last 30 days but have been known to last for about 40-45 days. The search is on it's 33rd day. Time is ticking for authorities to find this missing flight. As of right now there is no word on if authorities have found anything that would lead them to the flight. Authorities are telling the loved ones of those on the plane to stay hopeful.

  1. I personally do not know much about how planes and radar works at all but I just think it's crazy that a plane that big can go missing and not be found after so long. But at the same time the area of the ocean that has to be searched is so huge we might possibly never find the plane. I have heard many conspiracy theories of the plane not really crashing but I think the probability of that is very slim. I cannot begin to imagine what the families and loved ones of the passengers are going though with just not knowing what happened. I think there is still hope that we will find the plane somewhere in the ocean but who knows how long it will take.

  2. I have been on a lot of plane rides in my life and I don’t understand how a plane can just go missing like this. Planes are full of tracking devices and should always be able to be found with those or with satellite. They say that the black box that records everything in the cock pit was turned off along with every single tracking device. I feel like this is something that should never happen and the fact that it has been over a month and they still are looking blind with no clues at all to where these plane could be is a bit ridiculous to me. My heart goes out to the families that had loved ones on this plane I can’t imagine how shaken up they are and how bad they are hurting. I also don’t believe that the airline and the country giving the families over $500,000 and any American family was giving over a million by our government on top of what was given by the airline is right either. These families don’t want money they want to know what happened to their loved ones.

  3. I couldn't imagine being a family member or friend of anyone on that plane. I have heard multiple theories that "other countries, including the U.S., probably saw what happened to the plane on one of their own satellites, but they don't want to let other countries know that they have satellites over their country." Which would make sense that we wouldn't want to cause problems amongst other countries, but at the same time doesn't anyone have any sympathy for the missing peoples loved ones? I have also heard conspiracy theories that the plane landed somewhere else and they are holding passengers captive. Which, would be good to hear that they are still alive, but scary at the same time because of the situation. I just hope this mystery can be solved because, sadly, I don't think these families will ever truly find closure unless they get some answers.
