Budweiser Super Bowl

If you have watched the news about the Super Bowl lately you may wondering what's more important the actual game or the commercials. Every year Super Bowl commercials are something the viewers are excited about. As we know commercials are mostly advertisements for marketing. In all about thirty or more seconds they are trying to persuade you that their product is the best. They use many different techniques to persuade the viewers. Have you ever sat back and actually broke a commercial apart and wondered why they have every little detail in the commercial. For the past few years I have specifically observed the Super Bowl Budweiser commercials as it is known to be the Super Bowls most popular commercial. Here are the Super Bowl Budweiser commercials from 2013 and 2014. While watching these commercials think about how the message correlates with the product they are trying to sell.

Both of these commercials are very similar. I have many questions that come to mind while watching these. Yes they are very cute and emotional from the actions to the music. So what is the main point of Budweiser commercials? The main point should be to get people to buy Budweiser verse another brand. So do they really have to make a commercial for an alcohol beverage, emotional and close to home for some people? I think it’s a great marketing technique and it obviously works. But why do they have to relate cute puppies and Clydesdales horses and emotional music to alcohol? I see this trend in not only Budweiser commercials but many other commercials out there. If you have not thought about the breakdown of commercials before I hope this provoked you to do so. It is a very interesting topic of research and discussion.

  1. I agree it is interesting how marketing people try to make people associate beer with puppies. Those things really are on opposite sides of the spectrum usually. It's no wonder this weird combination makes Budweiser more famous and talked about. It seems like as a beer company, they emphasis an emotional appeal in their ads to try to get more females to buy.
