Bad Grandpa Movie Review

Bad Grandpa is an outrageously hilarious comedy movie based on the road
trip of an 86-year-old grandpa, Irving Zisman, and his 8-year-old grandson,
Billy. After Billy's mother was sentenced to jail for the use of drugs, Irving
was held responsible for driving him across the country to his father, who
unfortunately only agreed to take in Billy for the child support money.
The two of these hysterical characters cause all kinds of trouble as
they pull pranks on real-life people whose reactions are filmed on hidden
cameras. Along the way on their road trip, they decide to steal from convenient
stores, attempt to dance along side male strippers, enter into a beauty
pageant, and even haul around Irving’s dead wife’s corpse.

I personally enjoyed this movie because the people in it were real-life
characters and being able to see their reactions is what made the movie so
entertaining. Many of the situations that Irving and Billy were in were such
normal surroundings that it would be so odd to see a grandpa and his grandson running
around town, crashing through signs and walls of stores, and ruining things
while trying to get away with it.

Of course after pulling pranks on these people, they had to tell them
after that it was all being filmed for a movie, which seeing their reactions
for that was also funny. Many of the woman were embarrassed by the way they
acted but mostly all of them laughed along with it and were so surprised that
there where hidden cameras all around them.

I think this movie is definitely targeted for younger adults since the language
and certain scenes would be considered inappropriate but overall it’s a
hilarious comedy that anyone could enjoy if they find humor in pulling pranks
on people.

  1. I completely agree with your opinion about this movie. I have seen Bad Grandpa, and it is hilarious! I really liked the fact that the producers included people off the streets as witnesses, who had no idea that what they were witnessing was all just acting for the movie. At the end of the movie, when the people were told that what they had seen was all acting, I agree with you that their reactions were priceless. In your blog, I like how you used examples of things that actually happened in the movie to explain to readers the funny situations that happen throughout it. I also agree with you about who this movie is targeted towards. There is some crude humor and some swearing, which may not appeal to older adults, but which the younger generation, including myself, enjoys. Overall, I enjoyed both this movie and your blog!
