Awkward
is a popular TV show on MTV that is made for teens. In this show the main
character, Jenna Hamilton lives through various different awkward moments that
all high school kids could relate to. All the way from cheating on her
boyfriend and Jenna's best friend dating Jenna's ex. Jenna goes through
social suicide and rises back up by dealing with her problems and admitting her
mistakes. While she loses everything she has she still fights to get it all
back.
This is one of the very few shows that I follow. It's very entertaining and has a lot of twist in it. I started watching the show in high school and now I still watch it in college. I agree and feel like it is targeted towards our age group. I need to still watch the final of the last season but other wise I am all caught up. I think why our age group likes it so much is that we can relate to it on many levels. We also can relate to all the awkward moments that we have in our own lives. I would recommend this to high school / college students.
ReplyDeleteThis show is one of a few that I continue to follow and find interesting. I agree that it is mainly targeted to our age group and mainly high school students. Many of the struggles that Jenna goes through are things that almost all high school students go through. Many of us can relate to someone in the show and can see how we went through many of the same situations when we were in high school. I come from a small town where everyone knows almost everything about you and I feel like my high school relates a lot with the show because of all the drama and how everyone knows everyone secrets. I would also recommend this show to anyone who is in high school or even college who likes to watch funny shows that can easily relate to their lives.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch and follow this show devotedly, but not anymore. While at first it was funny and actually had episodes of topics normal young adults experience, in the later seasons it seems to have gone a little crazy. It's not realistic at all anymore. The writers at MTV seem to be writing many of their shows with a similar style, portraying teenagers and young adults as out of control. Sure, it's more interesting to watch, but its a little insulting to our age group. I liked the show more when the stuff that happened was more awkward-funny not awkward-crazy.
